Hoffman, a potential whistleblower who used to work at Optimo Pharmaceuticals, changes his mind after being intimidated by henchmen sent by the company. He sends mediator Ash copies of the incriminating documents, and surrenders the originals to the CEO, McVie. Ash secretly follows Hoffman until he safely boards a train out of the city, then adds the documents' copy to his collection at a warehouse in Newark.

Next thing I knew, I'd been reassigned and later dismissed. Production of the new strain has gone ahead, but these findings have been suppressed. Um, but I was able to get a copy of that food safety report out of the building.
