Barbie product the Mattel CEO mentions. Reference to French novelist Marcel Proust's Swann's Way, the first volume of the novel In Search of Lost Time (also known as Remembrance of Things Past), in which the Narrator is thrown back into his childhood through the taste of a madeleine dipped in tea. Stereotypical Barbie has a similar experience of involuntary memory when she enters the box. Interestingly, Marcel Proust happened to be one of J. Robert Oppenheimer's favorite authors, connecting the film to Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer, which opened on the same day, inspiring the "Barbenheimer" phenomenon.
