Sabot slugs - Newcomer Warren Hubley was discovered in an alley off Central Avenue near downtown with two B.R.I. Sabot slugs through his chest, rupturing both the primary and secondary hearts.

During a convenience store robbery, the robbers murder the owner Newcomer Cecil Porter. They also kill Detective Tug. Detective Sykes kills Newcomer Martin Helder.

Detective Sykes volunteers to work with Newcomer Detective Francisco, the first Newcomer to be promoted to detective, and requests to investigate the murder of Newcomer Warren Hubley in order to be able to also investigate his partner's murder the night before.

Detective Sykes and Newcomer Detective Francisco investigate the murder of Newcomer Warren Hubley, interviewing Newcomers William Harcourt and Trent Porter. After Porter refers them to Newcomer Joshua Strader, Harcourt has him killed.

Newcomer Joshua Strader's body found on the beach. Detectives Sykes and Francisco figure out Harcourt's Jabroka plans.

Detectives Sykes and Francisco chase with William Harcourt and Rudyard Kipling through the streets of Los Angeles. Following a head-on collision and and apparent overdose, Harcourt is presumed dead. He later mutates into a significantly larger, more muscular, and more violent Newcomer. Following a confrontation with the detectives, near a fishing pier, Harcourt's body disintegrates due to direct contact with salt water. Francisco rescues Sykes from the water.
