While eating lunch in the basement at work, Nida pricks her finger while opening a drawer, discovering a small wooden supernatural talisman, which her blood activates, unleashing a demon named Gaap who informs her that she must commit three human sacrifices in the next three days before May Day in order to prevent the world from ending. For her first kill, she murders a man walking his dog that is molesting his young daughter by hitting him with a brick.

In order to save the world by completing three human sacrifices, Nida goes to a local bar and seduces a customer, Keith Holligan. They go back to his house and she kills him with a hammer, then kills his brother to eliminate any witnesses. However, Gaap informs her that killing Keith did not count because he had murdered his wife, so she must commit one more murder.

In order to save the world by completing three human sacrifices, Nida attempts to murder politician Michael Smart. She runs him off the road and attacks him with a hammer, but is apprehended by police before she can kill him.

The end of the world. When the clock strikes midnight, Nida is relieved to discover that the world didn't end even though she was apprehended by police before being able to complete the required human sacrifices, until nuclear bombs begin to rain down. Since the demon Gaap failed his mission and must spend eternity in oblivion, he invites Nida to join him.
